2. Natural Resources and Human Rights Initiative

In addition to our core programs, we have two special initiatives, which allow us to explore new program areas while targeting populations that fit within our three core program areas.

The Natural Resources and Human Rights Initiative (NRHRI) partners with civil society organizations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, and the Republic of Guinea to increase their knowledge of economic and social rights and strengthen their ability to document violations linked to the extraction of natural resources.

Global Rights’ Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTI) Initiative was launched in 2006 and supports LGBTI activists and organizations around the world to expose abuses directed against individuals based on their real or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
